Job Description

We are seeking a Benefits Specialist & HR Generalist with 2–3 years of experience to join our dynamic HR team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping employees navigate benefits and HR policies while managing a variety of administrative tasks. You will play a key role in supporting employees, ensuring compliance, and maintaining accurate benefits records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Employee Support:
    • Assist employees with open benefits claims and answer questions about benefit plans.
    • Respond to inquiries in the HR inbox related to HR policies, general questions, and benefits.
  • Benefits Administration:
    • Reconcile all benefits programs weekly and monthly; document applicable system changes.
    • Maintain accurate benefits data in ADP platform and ensure timely updates.
    • Oversee 401(k) contributions and ensure compliance with plan requirements.
  • Compliance & Claims:
    • Respond to unemployment claims promptly and accurately.
    • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations (ERISA, ACA, HIPAA).
  • Wellness & Engagement:
    • Coordinate wellness challenges and initiatives to promote employee well-being.
    • Draft and distribute employee communications related to HR and benefits programs.
  • Open Enrollment & Vendor Coordination:
    • Support annual open enrollment activities, including employee assistance and system updates.
    • Collaborate with benefit vendors and brokers as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in HR or benefits administration.
  • Familiarity with ADP benefits platform strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a hybrid environment.
  • Must reside within driving distance of Troy and Southfield, Michigan.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with wellness program coordination.
  • Knowledge of unemployment claim processes and benefits reconciliation.
  • CEBS certification or similar credentials a plus.
