In this role “Human Resources Generalist/Payroll ” is to take care of all administrative duties of the Human Resources Department and must be willing to commute between Fontana office and Brea office.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Basic Function

This position is mainly responsible for a variety of tasks to support the daily operations of the staffing in the medical devices manufacturing department. Perform hiring and interviewing staff, training and development, compensation, and benefits. Ensure legal compliance with HR State and Federal regulations and applicable employment laws.

HR Function

  • Perform full lifecycle recruiting.
  • Coach and support management through a variety of Human Resources-related focus areas: recruitment employee on-boarding, succession planning, employee development, and performance management.
  • Reviews and updates bi-weekly non-exempted payroll time record to ensure timely and accurate payments.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to benefits and leaves; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employment eligibility verifications.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources and employment law.
  • Oversee strategic workforce planning by tracking and monitoring trends in headcount, and succession plans and providing recommendations and solutions for gaps.
  • Updates and maintains employee files, processes various forms and requests, prepares reports and provides information to employees regarding establishing HR programs, policies and procedures.
  • Works directly with employees on benefits and employee change notices to ensure timely and accurate processing of the requests.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Payroll Function

  • Prepares, processes, and issues paycheck for semi-monthly payrolls and terminations, which consist of compiling payroll data such as hours worked, salaries, commissions, taxes, garnishments, and other various mandatory and voluntary deductions and posts to payroll records.
  • Forming and maintaining employee records

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Admin. /HR; or four to ten years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent communication/written/interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills; Ethics and cultural awareness.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations is a must.
  • Ability to learn the organization's HRIS and talent management solutions.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Office Suite software; Outlook Contact Management systems and good EXCEL experience required
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a must.
  • SHRM and/or HRCI certification a plus.
