Job Description

MLSE Sport Performance Lab is seeking a Full Stack Developer to join our team. This individual will play a key role in developing and maintaining team coaching applications across multiple projects. They will focus on frontend development (React), backend/API development (Python/AWS), and provide development support for mobile applications using React Native. This role reports to the Manager of MLOps.

Sport Performance Lab is a research & development team focused on delivering wins for our professional teams. We are looking for individuals who are eager to learn and able to collaborative within a diverse team.

Position Type: 12-month independent contract

  • Develop and maintain web application features using React, adhering to modern DevOps practices and security standards.
  • Design, implement, and support APIs to integrate frontend and backend systems, leveraging Python and AWS services.
  • Provide development support for iOS apps using React Native.
  • Assist with backend development tasks using Python, ensuring stability and performance.
  • Collaborate with other teams, such as infrastructure and application engineering, to define metadata layers, technical strategies, and efficient integration across the existing landscape.
  • Develop and implement testing solutions, including automation, to ensure application quality and reliability.
  • Provide high-level sizing estimates and contribute to planning and scoping discussions to ensure alignment on technical solutions, project goals, and prioritization.
  • Contribute to and maintain documentation of engineering best practices, tools, and frameworks.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in full-stack development.
  • Hands-on experience with React for frontend development.
  • Proficiency in Python for backend and API development.
  • Familiarity with AWS services and their integration into backend systems.
  • Knowledge of React Native or a strong interest in learning mobile development is a plus.
  • Advocate of security best practices and micro-service architecture.
  • Proven ability to take a project from scoping requirements through to product launch.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices, including version control, code reviews, testing, and operations.
  • Experience collaborating with backend developers to design and integrate APIs and web services into applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and effectively manage multiple priorities.
