Job Description

We are seeking a talented and dynamic Social Media Coordinator and Content Creator to oversee the digital presence of Real Sports and e11even restaurants. As the Social Media Coordinator, you will be responsible for crafting engaging content, managing online communities, and implementing strategic initiatives to drive brand awareness and engagement across various social media platforms. This role will be on site at the restaurants with flexible but non-traditional office hours. In order to capture the essence of our restaurants in real time, this role will be required to be on site evenings and weekends in place of a traditional Monday to Friday 9-5.

Real Sports and e11even are two iconic dining destinations located in the heart of Toronto, offering unparalleled experiences in food, sports, and entertainment. Real Sports is North America's #1 sports bar, renowned for its vast selection of screens and upscale pub fare, while e11even is a stylish and modern restaurant known for its innovative cuisine and vibrant atmosphere. Reporting to the Digital Content Manager on the Venue Marketing team, this role will work directly with the Marketing Coordinator of Food & Beverage as well as General Managers of Real Sports & e11even and will become entrenched into the restaurant operations attending manager meetings and knowing the ins and outs of what is happening within the restaurants.

The ideal candidate is up to date with the latest digital and social trends and is active on popular social media platforms. S/he/they has their finger on the pulse of all things social and is keen to create effective organic content. While being creative, this candidate is also very organized and able to manage multiple brands social networks effectively.

Position Type: Freelance 

  • Content Creation: Develop creative and compelling content, including graphics, videos, and written posts, to showcase the unique offerings and events at Real Sports and e11even. Collaborate with internal teams to gather content ideas and ensure alignment with brand voice and objectives.
  • Social Media Management: Manage all social media accounts for Real Sports and e11even, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok. Regularly monitor channels, respond to comments/messages, and maintain a consistent posting schedule to maximize engagement and follower growth.
  • Campaign Execution: Plan and execute social media campaigns and promotions to support special events, menu launches, and seasonal initiatives. Coordinate with marketing and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of messaging across all channels.
  • Community Engagement: Foster a sense of community among followers by actively engaging with user-generated content, initiating conversations, and responding to feedback. Implement strategies to cultivate brand advocates and strengthen relationships with customers.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Utilize social media analytics tools to track performance metrics, analyze trends, and generate insights for continuous optimization. Prepare regular reports to evaluate the effectiveness of social media efforts and inform future strategies.
  • Stay Updated: Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in social media marketing. Recommend innovative approaches and opportunities for growth to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Manage content calendars and scheduled posting using Sprout Social content management tool.
  • Be on site at Real Sports and e11even on evenings and weekends to capture content in real time and be entrenched into the restaurant atmosphere.
  • Participate in meetings and brainstorming sessions for upcoming projects.
  • Collaborate with various groups including Corporate Partnerships, PR, & our Sports Teams to include key and relevant messaging to fit the needs of the target audience as appropriate and ensure brand consistency.

Qualifications

  • Post Secondary degree (a Journalism or Marketing degree is preferred);
  • At least 1-2 years experience in social media/marketing (sports/entertainment/brand/hospitality experience preferred).
  • Strong interest in and knowledge of food & beverage/hospitality content creation.
  • Social media platform proficient (Facebook Business Manager, Twitter, Creator Studio, Sprout Social).
  • Experience working in restaurants/hospitality an asset.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; proven ability to listen and communicate effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience creating & publishing content on social platforms: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube.
  • Must have an interest in exploring new and growing social platform technologies.
  • A people person, with a demonstrated ability to build and develop professional relationships; able to work with multiple levels of management, prioritizing and adapting personality to fit the needs of (your) audience.
  • You’re a creator. Regardless of the medium - word, visual, photo, video, anything - you’re born to make things and make them great.
  • Multi-varied creative skills preferred Adobe Photoshop & Creative Suite, Canva or other digital tool skills are preferred - handling your own edits may happen on the fly so these skills will be invaluable.
  • Developed instincts - you know what’s quality and can articulate what makes it sing.
  • Organizational skills are a must. We have a lot of content on the fly at any given moment in time and you’ll need to maintain visibility on it.
  • Clear creative direction. It’s not always easy to be concise, direct, and helpful to bring your vision to life, but you’ve been there before and know how to be efficient.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and use utmost discretion when privy to sensitive information.
  • Must be self-directed and able to work independently, while also flourishing in a fast-paced collaborative team environment.
