About MLSE Launchpad
MLSE LaunchPad is a 42,000 sq. ft. Sport For Development facility where youth facing barriers use sport to recognize and reach their potential. Supported by MLSE’s professional sports teams- the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors, Toronto Argonauts and Toronto FC, it is the first facility of its kind in North America. As a collaborative space promoting social change by leveraging sport, education and research, our programming is focused on four pillars: Healthy Body, Healthy Mind, Ready for School and Ready for Work.   • Making MLSE LaunchPad the best place it can be;Fostering a culture of warmth, acceptance and fun at MLSE LaunchPad while ensuring adherence to expectations, and that respect and kindness are prioritized.
  • Executing in-person MLSE LaunchPad Sport For Development programs;Leading the design, implementation, and evaluation of a sport program schedule for program participants that includes age-appropriate activities and all elements of MLSE LaunchPad core programming standards.
  • Leading a team of Sport Program Assistants; Liaising with Sport Program Assistants to ensure a complete understanding of program plan delivery, objectives, expectations, and individual roles and responsibilities.
  • Prioritizing safety and FUN; Making sure that all of our youth are physically and mentally safe while participating in programming and that FUN is always top of mind.
  • Participating in special projects and other related duties as required: We are one big team and we support each other on projects, proposals and events. Everything is “our job”.
  • Living our core values; Knowing and living our core values is a key component of this job. We expect our youth to behave with our core values top of mind, and our staff have to model that behaviour.

Qualifications

You have a desire to better our community and city by working with young people
We actually believe that sport can change the world and want the people that we work with to share that same conviction.

You are excited to interact with diverse communities and community organizations
Special events, special guests, partner programs, parents, neighbours – everyone is welcome here at LP and we need staff who make them FEEL like they are welcome. If you have high energy and can keep track of multiple priorities at the same time, this could be the role for you.

You have experience delivering youth sport programming
As a Sport Program Lead, a strong background and knowledge in children and youth sport, recreation, and/or physical activity programs is considered an asset. You must have or be willing to get youth sport certifications, including HIGH FIVE training, NCCP Certifications, Mental Health First Aid, and other sport specific coaching certifications.

You have or are willing to get Standard First Aid and CPR certifications and a clear Vulnerable Sector background check

You are available to work flexible hours.
This is an in-person job and we are looking for someone with open availability in this role.
