Job Description
The world of Sports Marketing has evolved. To achieve our marketing objectives we require big ideas. The Brand Creative Group exists to intake, ideate, collaborate, and execute the creative briefs that become unique, strategic, and often tactical partner programs. They must marry both brand and team identity. Our goal is to create unique campaigns so that our fans get excited by the work and respond positively.
Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment is looking for an experienced advertising Copywriter to work inside its Marketing, and Creative Group. This individual will be responsible for co-creating engaging work for our teams and partner brands across all platforms. Working alongside our Associate Creative Director, Art Directors, and Content Leads, you will handle projects from briefing through to completion, in collaboration with our Brand Marketing department.
Contract Length: 4- Month Freelance
- Develop creative concepts alongside Art Directors, Associate Creative Directors, and Supervising Producers.
- Write original copy and work to generate the framework for brand campaigns inside team ecosystems.
- Generate copy designed for a variety of contexts and platforms, including social media, digital contesting, websites, TV and OOH.
- Show strong communication and presentation skills (both internal and in front of partners)
- Work within the established voice of our Teams.
- Prepare client presentations.
- Respond well to constructive feedback, working towards achieving joint KPIs of team and partners.
- Collaborate with external and internal production and post-production partners (production experience is a must).
- Serve as a highly motivated self-starter and collaborator.
- Work to deadlines in high-pressure situations.
- Apply strong time management skills.
Qualifications

- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Programs.
- Evidence of creative ability (book of work/Portfolio).
- At least 3-5 years of work as a copywriter in agency situations.
- Previous sports experience is not a pre-requisite.
