Job Description

MLSE Sport Performance Lab is seeking a Specialist, Biomechanics to conduct biomechanical research across multiple sports and team operations. This individual will coordinate with various stakeholders across MLSE to execute initiatives of immediate and long-term strategic research interest as it pertains to athletic performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with various team performance staff to develop and implement novel methods of biomechanical analysis into existing player evaluation and developmental processes.
  • Identify areas of shared research interest across team operations and drive the implementation of a unified data model to support cross-sport innovation.
  • Work closely with external academic and corporate partners on initiatives that align with strategic research goals.

Qualifications

  • Strong academic background in Biomechanics.
  • NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
  • Proficiency working in large data sets with scripting languages such as Python or R.
  • Experience conducting research in the topics of sports science and high performance.
  • A strong grasp of sports industry, including the data providers and problem space.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced setting; can balance multiple priorities at the same time.
  • A winning approach, incorporating integrity, confidentiality, and discretion.
  • Experience in a high-performance sporting environment.
  • Strong grasp of the on-field rules and off-field regulations of various sports.
  • Experience working with spatio-temporal data.
