Job Description

As part of the MLSE People & Inclusion team, you will have the extraordinary opportunity to work collaboratively with the MLSE P&I Team and internal business partners, to support strategic talent management programs that focus on elevating the employee experience. This includes, but is not limited to employee engagement campaigns and surveys, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion activities, celebration and recognition events, HR policies and procedures, organizational change initiatives, health and safety updates, etc.  

MLSE’s Internship term dates are from May 8th, 2023 - September 1st, 2023

Responsibilities:  

  • Support to the People & Inclusion team with researching, planning, and performing organizational wide employee programs & initiatives  
  • Provide communications support, including the development of executive and non-executive level presentations  
  • Proactively identify ways to increase engagement in workplace initiatives and events  
  • Assist in the coordination and administration of MLSE recognition programs, employee events, learning & development sessions, as well as breakthrough moments across the organization  
  • Support standard methodology research on employee experience to advise the development of future programs and initiatives  
  • Provide administrative data entry support such as record keeping, maintenance of records and files and other service functions as required  
  • Assist the Talent Acquisition team with recruitment needs, including but not limited to the coordination of job fairs  
  • Adhere to all MLSE service standards and policies  
  • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act  

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution studying Human Resources, Organizational Behavior, Psychology or Related Field.  
  • Expert in Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); comfortable providing updates to senior leadership in PPT, using data insights acquired through Excel.  
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written and visual) with the ability to collaborate with partners across all levels  
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment 
  • Highly organized with the ability to work on multiple projects / programs with tight deadlines  
  • Creative approach, thinks in an unexpected way and passionate about employee experience  
  • Accountable for accuracy and timeliness of work within the department  
  • Personal integrity when handling confidential information  
  • Expresses a strong curiosity about HR related functions  
  • Familiarity with HR Software (Workday & SmartRecruiters) an asset  
  • Previous internship experience in an HR related field is an asset
