Toronto FC is the first Canadian professional soccer club based in Toronto to compete in Major League Soccer (MLS), beginning play in 2007. The club is owned and operated by Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment and plays its home matches at BMO Field at Exhibition Place. In 2017, Toronto FC captured the first domestic treble in MLS history when the club won the MLS Cup, the Supporters' Shield and the Voyageurs Cup (Canadian Championship). Toronto FC became the first team in MLS history to win three domestic trophies in the same season. They are eight-time winners of the Canadian Championship competition (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2020). The club works out of the state-of-the-art BMO Training Ground, which is also home to Toronto FC II (MLS NEXT Pro) and the TFC Academy.

In line with this commitment, Toronto FC, in partnership with BMO, will provide a full-time, paid Fellowship opportunity to emerging talent who self-identify as a woman and have a passion for sport. We want to continue to advance representation of women in front-office, leadership positions through this unique opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on professional experience.

Working closely with leaders across the Toronto FC front office, this role will provide you with insight and learning across multiple areas of Team & Business Operations through rotations in:

  • Business Operations
  • Player Personnel (Roster/Cap Management, Scouting, Analytics)
  • Team Administration
  • Player Development & Safe Sport
  • Media Relations
  • TFC 2 & Academy Operations

This Fellowship will provide you with an outstanding opportunity to experience the sport, as well as offer your unique perspective to help influence the club. Travel and accommodation to required events, as well as some extended travel to games, training camps or other may be required. Costs associated with this will be covered in full, in addition to your salary, which will be paid semi-monthly. You will be required to work game days and given the nature of the organization, you should anticipate a need for flexibility beyond a traditional Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm work week as much of the learning and development occurs on event days. The experience will be immersive and the opportunities for development extensive.

Qualifications

Toronto FC is looking for an individual who self-identifies as a woman and has a degree of sport business experience, or related education. You are curious, have strong communication skills and are passionate about gaining a deeper understanding of the work environment within a professional sports organization. We will provide mentorship and on-the-job learning where you can gain exposure across many lines of business and operations.
