Job Description

As a part-time member of MLSE’s Media Asset Management Team you will help with all stages of our content workflows to meet our goal to bring world-class content to our fans in-arena, on television, on the web and on social media. Number of hours will vary depending on experience and our pro team schedules.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure various types of media assets pass corporate quality control standards and are delivered for broadcast or trafficking by deadline, including (but not limited to) video assets for linear broadcast on NBATV Canada and external partner networks; video assets for broadcast on social media and web; and image or motion assets for digital signage
  • Coordinate transmission needs with Production, schedule recordings and monitor incoming feeds for edit and archive as well as outgoing feeds for linear broadcast or streaming live on our team mobile apps and websites   
  • Perform various tasks associated with our ongoing Production storage management effort such as accuming, trimming, and basic maintenance edits using Adobe Premiere or Dalet OneCut
  • Assign searchable game-play specific metadata to our teams’ most valuable video assets using Dalet Sports Logger and other searchable metadata to all media assets stored for permanent archive according to our metadata schema standards using Dalet Asset Manager
  • Search and retrieve archived content as per various internal requests from Production, Game Operations, and Marketing as well as external requests from Global Partnerships, other linear networks, team alumnus, etc.

Qualifications

  • Experience and/or education in information sciences (asset management), broadcast, sports management, or media/communications
  • Experience and/or education in graphic design, ideally with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, Encoder, Illustrator) is as asset
  • Knowledge of video and image formats and codecs
  • Experience with Dalet, Media Valet or other MAM and DAM systems is an asset
  • Fan, rec player, or coaching level knowledge of football, basketball, hockey, and soccer
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to multi-task and meet various deadlines as well as deal with frequent changes in plan or direction as news develops or new information becomes available
  • Must be flexible at times to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required given MLSE’s evolving event-based schedule
  • A positive, winning approach, incorporating integrity, confidentiality and discretion
  • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act
