Job Description

Position Overview:

As a valuable member of the Toronto Maple Leafs Media Relations team, you will assist with a variety of game day and media events.

MLSE’s Internship term dates are from January 9th, 2023 - April 28th, 2023

Specific Duties:

  • Assist with gameday media responsibilities which include: press-box set-up, game note updates, credential requests, distribution of stats
  • Assist in game-day coordination of Media Centre
  • Assist in media credential creation and distribution
  • Assist in crafting, updating and distributing various documents for use by media covering the team and the Maple Leafs staff
  • Perform other administrative or service functions as the need arises
  • Assist in hockey operations department when needed
  • Follow all MLSE Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act

 

Qualifications

  • Available for all Toronto Maple Leafs home games, including weekends and holidays
  • Available to work up to 40 hours a week
  • Enrolled in a college/university program, preferably with concentration in Sports Administration / Sport Management, journalism or communications.
  • Knowledge of hockey at both the professional and amateur levels is an asset
  • Familiar with Social Media
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Able to exercise discretion, diplomacy and tact at all times
  • Ability to multitask and meet multiple deadlines
  • You are fully vaccinated against Covid-19
