Job Description

Position Overview

The Manager, Sales on the Raptors 905 basketball vertical is responsible for leading all functions related to ticket sales. Managing a team of Account Managers/Account Executives, the successful candidate will be responsible for generating revenue through the sale of full season memberships, partials, groups, and single game tickets. Candidates must have a passion to support the growth of basketball in Mississauga and beyond. This individual’s energy is infectious. They have a positive outlook and the sheer determination to achieve what others only dream about. The successful candidate is a proactive, goal-oriented individual with a positive track record of sales success and the ability to inspire, mentor and develop a growing sales team.

In addition to being a leader and brand ambassador for the 905 business, this role will support the Raptors (NBA) ticketing business and sales team as it relates to the new business, partial pack offerings, the group sales process, and coaching.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and encourage a team of sales professionals to grow the basketball ticket sales business to achieve annual revenue and expense targets
  • Inspire and champion an environment of equity where the team feels safe to be themselves, valued for their contributions, and can do their best work while having fun
  • Establish individual and work collaboratively within internal business partners on annual Raptors 905 ticket sales objectives
  • Build quarterly and annual business plans that strategically guide day-to-day ticket sales efforts for the team including inventory management, pricing, and prospect pipeline management
  • Lead existing business and build innovative programs to drive new business and expand basketball audience
  • Support Raptors 905 sales reps in effort to achieve targets, continuously supervise efficiency levels and assess their performance on a quarterly basis
  • Design and lead all aspects of CRM reporting protocols within Salesforce to monitor team/individual performance
  • Implement new strategies and techniques based on industry standard methodologies, research, and data
  • Lead prospecting calls and sales presentations to customers as necessary and as a developmental opportunity for your teams
  • As required, generate new revenue as an individual contributor by selling season tickets, partial plans and group tickets
  • Strategically align and work collaboratively with other commercial departments to create cross-selling opportunities and programs
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to achieve single ticket revenue objectives, production of ticket sales content and the creation of marketing collateral and material (ie. group sales templates/fliers, brochures, etc.)
  • Work in conjunction with the membership team to support overarching basketball vertical ticketing objectives
  • Coordinate and achieve ticket event objectives for annual Giants of Africa signature Gala and Inclusive Leadership Forum

  • Expertise in the interpretation and presentation of sales results to a wide range of audiences
  • Experience working in Salesforce with the ability to lead and drive consistent usage of the CRM system with adherence to the sales process
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours and game nights as required

  • Knowledge of ticket sales/marketing best practices and industry best practices
  • Knowledge of the ticketing system operations (Archtics)
  • Strong database within sports and/or entertainment
