Job Description

We're looking for a Human Resources Business Partner with experience in Labour Relations.

With strength in building relationships and strong business acumen, you will support the business unit leadership teams with people data analytics and talent-related financial insights to enable their decision-making. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Human Resources, you will support day-to-day decisions in labor relations including addressing working conditions, health, and safety, complaints, and grievances from employees. Your input will be instrumental in executing the strategies for company planning, team development, and employee management for various business units within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the day-to-day HR activities such as onboarding, employee relations, and investigations.

  • Address aspects of labor relations such as workforce management, health and safety, compensation, and more.

  • Lead talent prioritization discussions, salary and incentive recommendations, succession, and people planning activities for Operations and Teams.

  • Enable effective decision-making, by providing budget and people data analytics in order to improve employee performance and engagement.

  • Contribute to the overall business strategy, collaborating with leadership to advance the achievement of company objectives through identifying the organizational capabilities, processes, structures that can be improved.

  • Analyze and interpret employee performance; assess performance and collect data from survey results and use this information to create action plans that boost employee efficiency and engagement.

Qualifications

We are seeking an HR professional who possesses:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Post Graduate Certificate or higher
  • 3-5 years of HR work experience, with at least 1 year independently managing a business client group
  • Experience leading cultural change management
  • Experience leading programs to deliver exceptional customer service both externally to our fans and internally to each other
  • Experience in dealing with employee relations including but not limited to: execution of disciplinary actions, development and coaching as it relates to performance improvement plans and dismissals
  • Knowledge of employment law and practices as it relates to Canada Labour Code, Ontario Employment Standards and relevant Human Rights legislation
  • Experience in Health & Safety including ensuring OH&S standards are met, management of all WSIB claims, and ensuring that all H&S programs, policies and projects are in support of the overall business strategy
  • Demonstrable experience with HR analytics and HR Management Systems, preferably Workday
  • A demonstrated ability to build and develop professional relationships and influence others for a positive resolution
  • Confidence and savvy at building partnerships at senior leadership levels of the organization, and must be viewed as a trusted advisor to the business
  • A pragmatic approach to coaching and influencing senior leaders
  • A solid understanding of financial implications and risks associated with talent decisions
  • An analytical approach with strong project management skills
