Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) one of the world's premier sports and entertainment companies, owns the Toronto Maple Leafs (NHL), Toronto Raptors (NBA), Toronto FC (MLS), Toronto Argonauts (CFL), Toronto Marlies (AHL), Raptors 905 (NBA D-League), TFC II (USL) and Raptors Uprising Gaming Club, the Toronto Raptors Esports franchise in the NBA 2K League. Its charitable arm, MLSE Foundation, focuses on funding initiatives to support youth through sport and recreational programs. In 2017 MLSE Foundation, with support of community and corporate partners, built MLSE LaunchPad, a 42,000-sq. ft. space dedicated to programming that support its four Pillars: Healthy Body, Healthy Mind, Ready For School and Ready For Work.


MLSE also owns and operates Scotiabank Arena, Canada’s premier sports & entertainment venue hosting more than 200 events each year, as well as two digital channels (Leafs Nation Network and NBA TV Canada), and has a partnership with Live Nation (the biggest concert promoter in the world). MLSE has also invested in and operates five of Toronto's sports facilities – Coca-Cola Coliseum, BMO Field, BMO Training Grounds at Downsview Park, home of Toronto FC's Academy and the First Team's practice facility, the Toronto Raptors’ training facility and the Ford Performance Centre for Hockey Excellence, the practice facility for the Maple Leafs and Marlies.

Job Description

About the Position:

You will be working on an energetic and dynamic Development team that prides itself on delivering a best-in-class experience for our guests, donors, partners, and communities while driving results. You will combine your creative communication skills and technical savviness to devise, implement, and grow online marketing efforts in support of reaching our fundraising goals.

What You’ll be Doing:

  • Managing the digital support of our 50|50 program. Using the latest technology, you’ll work with our internal studio teams and external email marketing team to optimize results; designing digital assets to be leveraged for email, social and team channels while ensuring integration of best practices.
  • Acting as a project manager for the Foundation’s annual impact report, leading the creation, writing and design format of our annual results.
  • Creating and updating our event sales packages, invitations, marketing, and event assets.
  • Supporting our event marketing with a concentration on digital assets as well as crafting our guest communications and post-event surveys.
  • Overseeing MLSE Foundation website updates, and the creation/updating of event specific websites as needed.
  • Act as lead contact with our website providers, ensuring priorities are met and measuring the success of specific web pages, ensuring the website performs at optimal capacity.
  • Creating marketing assets to effectively communicate to our key stakeholders; this includes pitch decks for prospective partners, and major gift donors.
  • Leading donor communications and designing/writing effective communications to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with peers and other departments to support on fundraising strategies that facilitate support for the Foundation.
  • Participating in special projects and other development related duties as required.

 

Qualifications

  • You have experience in fundraising and/or project management.
    • You’re confident supporting multiple projects on a high energy, high impact team. You perform well under pressure, can manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines and are confident solving problems. Your work aligns with all relevant policy and legislation including but not limited to workplace standards and policies, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.
  • You are collaborative.
    • You work well in a highly collaborative environment. You are ready to lead when required and are excited to collaborate with peers on projects both big and small.
  • You are a clear, creative, and thoughtful communicator.
    • You have strong verbal and written communication skills. You are confident in your writing and possess the ability to create strong, brand-infused copy to reinforce our mission and product value across partners, donors, and community members of varying ages, cultural backgrounds and lived experiences.
  • You are well organized, and proficient in digital software.
    • You create efficient systems that enable you to work quickly, solve problems proactively, and produce exceptional quality work. You’re confident using tools like Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Google Suite, SEO and SEM campaign tools and Email marketing campaign software to support your creative work and are comfortable learning new programs/software as required to adapt to changing priorities
  • You are community minded.
    • You have a strong understanding of the communities we serve through the Foundation and support our work in ‘Changing the Game’. You have familiarity with applying anti-oppressive and anti-racist principles to your work and engage in continued learning in these areas.

Extra things that can support your application:

  • You completed a post-secondary education in Events, Fundraising, Sports Management, or another related field, and are familiar with events, fundraising and sponsorship best practices as they relate to sports philanthropy.
