Job Description

Are you a live music fan? In the know of all things pop culture? A social media wiz? We’re searching for someone to join our Music & Live Events Marketing team that loves the noise, the energy and atmosphere that comes with the live concert experience and a deep knowledge and critical thinking as it relates to the social media & digital landscape. Our social and digital channels have never been more important to our business. Our sponsored content initiatives are growing and we run increasingly more social campaigns requiring higher content quality.

This role reports directly to the Manager, Commercial Marketing – Music & Live Events and is someone passionate about crafting and strategizing a story across all our social feeds. They are a people manager and understand how to lead and inspire a team and promote career growth across their staff.

You will bring our music and venue brands to life for fans through a multi-medium approach. You are constantly thinking of new ways to engage fans and help deliver against MLSE’s business objectives. The right candidate is dedicated to the social cultural trends and sees opportunity in how our brands can join the conversation. You'll partner with the other members of the Global Partnerships & Marketing teams, both in a direct and indirect reporting structure, to bring our work to the next level.

The ideal candidate is up to date with the latest digital and social trends and is active on all popular social media platforms. They have their finger on the pulse of all things social and are keen to engage with our community of fans and is a content creator at heart. While being creative, this candidate is also very organized, has a strong attention to detail, and a strategic problem solver. They will own our monetization strategy in social media and will have a strategic and creative mind to grow the portfolio and increase revenues.

You will work with the Digital Content Coordinator creating and curating engaging content that promotes our events, partner initiatives and programs, and increases our social following(s).

This role is responsible for the strategy, monetization, partner integrations and planning for of our music and venues social channels:

  • Live Nation Fans (in partnership with Live Nation Canada)
  • Scotiabank Arena
  • Coca-Cola Coliseum
  • BMO Field

It also oversees digital content for our concert/venue email marketing, venue app content and requires a keen desire for all things digital content.

Reporting into this role is a Digital Content Coordinator, to collaborate and implement across all platforms.

This is not your typical 9-5 job. A major part of our storytelling occurs on concert nights and you’ll attend events as needed. This position is based out of the MLSE offices at Scotiabank Arena with a hybrid model.

Responsibilities

  • Ideate and complete digital content plans for brand campaigns, retail, league initiatives, and game day
  • Build and own social media strategies for all music brands in portfolio.
  • Provide strategic recommendations for Live Nation Fans & Venue digital strategy across different areas of the business (partnerships, show announcements, fan engagement, etc.)
  • Manage and publish across multiple [venue] accounts including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok alongside your team
  • Coordinate and brief all creative agencies, freelancers, and direct reports on required work, channel distribution & specs
  • Manage all contract workers (video, editorial, photography, influencers, etc.) inclusive of finding talent, managing contracts, handling schedule, and invoicing
  • Manage Show Day run of show across all digital owned channels inclusive of manage vendors, curating creative assets, capturing planned content in a calendar, and providing live social coverage during the game
  • Build relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders including Concert Promoters, Media Relations, Public Relations, Brand, Partnerships
  • Document Digital Content ideas and pitch to respective stakeholders
  • Develop, pitch and produce all partner integrations in collaboration with Global Partnerships team
  • Develop, pitch and produce all monetized content and work closely with sales teams at social platforms (Twitter, Snap Chat, etc.)
  • Build relationships with record labels, promoters and artists to develop content opportunities within our platforms
  • Explore and build all digital opportunities in live entertainment including but not limited to CRM/Email marketing and venue apps
  • Collaborate with various groups including Corporate Partnerships, PR, & our Sports Teams to include key and relevant messaging to fit the needs of the target audience as appropriate and ensure brand consistency.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Post Secondary degree (Marketing degree is preferred);
  • 5+ years experience in social media marketing, preferably social media music/concert marketing
  • Strong interest in and knowledge live concerts and music

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Social media platform proficient (Facebook Business Manager, Twitter, Creator Studio).
  • Content management system proficient (Knowledge of Sprout Social an asset)
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; shown experience to listen and communicate effectively.
  • Creative Thinking – able to provide creative solutions to deliver against business objectives
  • People management – lead social content coordinator(s) as direct report throughout business needs and career development
  • Relationship management – build and grow important stakeholder relationships
  • Organization – manage social content calendar and ensure everything is published on time
  • Social Media Platforms – know and stay up to date on all social media platform best practices, specs, and trends
  • Quality Control – owner of all quality control before publishing
  • Confidentiality – maintain confidence & discretion with sensitive Team information
  • Perform under pressure - maintain calm under pressurized situations and handle large team and brand moments throughout the season
  • Possess knowledge about pop culture, music industry at large, artist, and phraseology for social copywriting
  • Self-directed and able to work independently, while also thriving in a fast-paced collaborative team environment
  • Technical capabilities in full Adobe suite an asset
  • Social media in the music industry or working with concerts is a strong asset
