Job Description

Are you a passionate live music fan? In the know of all things pop culture? A social media wiz? We’re searching for someone to join our Music & Live Events Marketing team that loves the noise, the energy and atmosphere that comes with the live concert experience as well as a knowledge of the social media & digital landscape. Our social and digital channels have never been more important to our business. Our sponsored content initiatives are growing and we run increasingly more social campaigns requiring higher content quality.

The ideal candidate is up to date with the latest digital and social trends and is active on all popular social media platforms. S/he/they has their finger on the pulse of all things social and is keen to engage with our community of fans and is a content creator. While being creative, this candidate is also very organized, has a strong attention to detail, an eye for grammar and able to manage multiple brands social networks (Live Nation Fans, Scotiabank Arena, Coca-Cola Coliseum & BMO Field) effectively. It requires a flexible schedule, working at home, at the office, and at shows across the city.

You will work closely with the Digital Content Manager – Music & Live Events creating and curating engaging content that promotes our events, partner initiatives and programs, and increases our social following(s).

This role operates the day-to-day tasks of our music and venues social channels:

  • Live Nation Fans (in partnership with Live Nation Canada)
  • Scotiabank Arena
  • Coca-Cola Coliseum
  • BMO Field

It also manages digital content for our concert/venue email marketing, venue app content and requires a keen desire for all things digital content. 

This is not your typical 9-5 job. A major part of our storytelling occurs on concert nights and you’ll
be expected to attend events as needed. This position is based out of the MLSE offices at Scotiabank Arena with a hybrid model.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Power all digital and social media channels: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and more for multiple verticals (Live Nation Fans, Scotiabank Arena, Coca-Cola Coliseum & BMO Field).
  • Drive and execute all live digital content including but not limited to email (CRM) marketing and venue app content.
  • Aid in developing, producing and promoting content related to Live Nation Canada shows and Live Nation Canada corporate partner initiatives.
  • Ideate and execute social media strategy for the music portfolio alongside Digital Content Manager
  • Cover concerts and live events, providing real-time content across multiple social media platforms as identified as a priority from your manager.
  • Produce multimedia content for social media channels including video, photography, audio and text
  • Identify new content opportunities and explore ways to produce new content
  • Participate in meetings and brainstorming sessions for upcoming projects
  • Collaborate with various groups including Corporate Partnerships, PR, & our Sports Teams to include key and relevant messaging to fit the needs of the target audience as appropriate and ensure brand consistency.
  • Respond to comments and fan queries in a timely manner while interacting with fans in a fun and engaging way.
  • Post all scheduled content to social platforms in a timely manner, including concert announcements.
  • Monitor the performance of your content using business insights and analytics, adjusting content plans accordingly to ensure consistently high engagement across all platforms with a demonstrated growth in audience.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Post Secondary degree (Marketing degree is preferred);
  • At least 1-2 years experience in social media/marketing (sports/entertainment/brand experience preferred).
  • Strong interest in and knowledge live concerts and music           

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Social media platform proficient (Facebook Business Manager, Twitter, Creator Studio, Sprout Social).
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; proven ability to listen and communicate effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience creating & publishing content on social platforms: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube.
  • Must have an interest in exploring new and growing social platform technologies.
  • A people person, with a demonstrated ability to build and develop professional relationships; able to work with multiple levels of management, prioritizing and adapting personality to fit the needs of (your) audience
  • You’re a creator. Regardless of the medium - word, visual, photo, video, anything - you’re born to make things and make them great.
  • Multi-varied creative skills preferred Adobe Photoshop & Creative Suite skills are preferred - handling your own edits may happen on the fly so these skills will be invaluable
  • Developed instincts - you know what’s quality and can articulate what makes it sing
  • Organizational skills are a must. We have a lot of content on the fly at any given moment in time and you’ll need to maintain visibility on it
  • Clear creative direction. It’s not always easy to be concise, direct, and helpful to bring your vision to life, but you’ve been there before and know how to be efficient
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and use utmost discretion when privy to sensitive information
  • Must be self-directed and able to work independently, while also flourishing in a fast-paced collaborative team environment
