About the Team
The MLSE Commercial Marketing team sits in our Marketing department and collaborates very closely with our Digital Labs team which is the technology and innovation arm of MLSE. Marketing and Digital Labs strive to push the boundaries of sports and entertainment by creating extraordinary moments, amplifying our competitive advantage through technology, and encouraging a culture of integrity, inclusion, and innovation.

About the Role
The business development manager, role is responsible for managing the end-to-end sales cycle for MLSE Digital Labs’ commercial prospects and clients. This includes developing to overall go-to-market strategy, building awareness of our digital products, prospecting, building sales materials, leading sales conversations, developing relationships with key contacts, closing sales, meeting client and revenue targets, and working with different parts of the business to ensure client proposals are impactful. We are seeking a high performing and motivated person to drive our sales team forward.

Key Responsibilities

Sales

  • Build a sales strategy rooted in our product capability, identifying sales strategy by region, sport or product for the Commercial Marketing team to follow. 
  • Build a network of contacts both inside and outside the sports and entertainment industry to build a sales funnel
  • Lead prospecting while moving new and existing prospects down the sales funnel. 
  • Manage end-to-end sales process for prospects 
  • Work closely with the Account Management, Product Management, Engineering, Product Design, and support functions such as Legal, Finance, and Marketing
  • Work with the sales engineering team to gather requirements as needed per client
  • Manage, track, and report sales activities and results using Salesforce
  • Create standardized proposal templates that can be easily tailored to each new sales conversation
  • Working with the Manager of Product Commercialization, build and deliver the most effective pitch decks based on prospect needs.
  • Work within your team and internal legal partners to create legal documentation for on-coming clients, such as Master Service Agreements, Schedule of Work, Letter of Intent etc.  
  • Manage a Sales Coordinator and create the case for building out a larger team
  • Interface with senior executives to update on progress and ensure buy-in across the organization

Product/Technical

  • Become intimately familiar with MLSE Digital Labs’ products and services
  • Provide insightful technical answers, and recommend innovative ways to get the most out of the product/service
  • Be the voice and champion of the client to the product team and other cross-functional teams

Communication

  • Create executive level summaries for all sales activities on a regular basis
  • Create a clear set of value propositions for why prospects should be interested in our products
  • Build well-structured commercial pricing models that entice prospects and generate strong revenue figures for MLSE

Qualifications

  • High energy, self-starter – our business will only be as large as the Business Development team makes it, so we need someone who wants to hit the ground running and keep up a high tempo every day of the week
  • Experience as a Account Executive or Sales Leader preferably selling B2B SaaS solutions. 
  • Strong track record of managing executive relationships and collaborating with cross functional partners
  • Outstanding communicator, both written and verbal
  • Curious and always willing to learn or take on a new challenge
  • Knowledge of Salesforce.com is needed
  • Okay with flexible work schedule and travel
