Job Description

As a valuable member of the Facility Services Team, you will deliver championship service throughout the organization. Under the direction of the Supervisor, you will assist in the maintenance of the ice and the usage of all ice related equipment. You will also be involved in the set up and take down of equipment and materials for games and events

Responsibilities

  • Maintain ice surface before and after conversions, meeting NHL standards
  • Communicate positively and professionally with internal customers and co-workers to meet organizational goals
  • Ensure work area and equipment is clean and organized at all times
  • Work diligently to ensure the safety of self and others at all times
  • Operate light equipment and machines such as forklifts and ice maintenance equipment
  • Perform on and off ice duties as they relate to the various ice related event
  • Perform duties as assigned by supervisors
  • Cleaning and buffing of all glass and insuring proper alignment
  • Installation/removal & alignment of all boards and gates
  • Snow shoveling (as required)
  • Adhere to MLSE service and health and safety standards and policies

Qualifications

  • Previous experience operating and driving a Zamboni ice re-surfacer and ice edger an asset
  • Considerable knowledge of methods, equipment, material, and techniques commonly used in Facility operations
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety where it relates
  • Identify hazards and standard safety precautionsAvailable to work the overnight shift and weekends with some flexibility for late afternoon shifts
  • A positive team spirit and professional winning attitude is necessary
  • CIT certificate an asset
  • Knowledgeable of all ice installations/painting/logo installations & removal; patching if necessary
  • Mechanical aptitude is an asset
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and adhere to game day ice schedules
  • Ability to easily adapt to a constantly evolving schedule
  • Previous experience working with Natural gas and propane fuel systems
