Job Description

We are looking for a motivated team member to unleash their passion and be a part of our restaurant team. As part of the Maple Leaf Square Fine Dining Restaurant, you will create and service outstanding food as well as first-rate customer service.  You are an experienced Sous Chef with supervisory experience in a high volume environment, and have the ability to lead and a professional, winning attitude.

  • Train, motivate and coach team daily.
  • Schedule staff according to current CBA guidelines.
  • Coordinate all food requisitions for daily lunch and dinner requirements.
  • Build menus for specific client requests in a timely manner.
  • Ensure accurate tracking of costs for internal rooms through accurate Eatec transfers.
  • Work with Managers to ensure correct billing of events, including food, labor, props, rentals, taxes and gratuities.
  • Handle sales revenues and operating expenses effectively.
  • Provide outstanding customer service and food quality satisfaction.
  • Actively participate in all relevant MLSE departmental meetings.
  • Assist with other related functions as assigned by Chef and Manager.

Qualifications

  • 5-6 years of progressive supervisory experience within a high-volume restaurant
  • Journeyman’s Cooks Papers (or equivalent in practical experience).
  • Experience in food costing and menu development
  • Experience in Gardemanger, large quantity cooking and high volume line expediting and buffet presentations is an asset
  • Ongoing awareness and responsiveness to client satisfaction.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, presentation and communication skills, where building a rapport comes naturally
  • Proficient in MS Office and Restaurant POS
  • Understanding of Industry business principles
  • Committed to working evenings/weekends as the need arises
  • A professional, winning attitude
