Job Description

About the position:

You will be working on an upbeat and dynamic Community Sport Programming team that creates opportunities for over youth across the GTA to engage in sport every year! This team prides itself on crafting the absolute best experience for our community partners and participants, and puts our ‘youth first, always’ value at the core of its work. As the Coordinator, Community Sport Program, you’ll get the opportunity to further grow the impact of MLSE LaunchPad and MLSE Foundations community sport programs by supporting the administration, evaluation and development of the portfolio. The role will be primarily focused on delivery of MLSE Foundation’s signature program portfolio including, Toronto Maple Leafs Home Ice Hockey program, Toronto Raptors Home Court Hoops program, and Toronto FC’s Kickstart program.

If you have experience coordinating and/or developing youth programming, managing partnerships and collaborations, and are passionate about working with a diverse range of participant’s, partners and communities then we believe you’ll enjoy the Coordinator, Community Sport Programming role!

What you’ll be doing:

  • Assisting in the structural design of community Sport For Development programs that achieve specific youth development outcomes
  • Leading the creation of curriculum of community-based sport for development programs, including the planning and execution of special events
  • Tending to the day-to-day relationships with all MLSE Foundation signature program partners.
  • Measuring key outcomes to support community program refinement and growth in close collaboration with the Measurement and Evaluation.
  • Supporting a team of 15 hourly staff coaches in the execution of successful programs and events.
  • Setting up the community programs for success by assisting in the training process for the coaching staff who run our key programs.
  • Coordinating all aspects of the programs including budget, staffing, program logistics and other related duties
  • Supporting the growth and scaling of key MLSE LaunchPad Sport For Development initiatives
  • Participating in special projects and other related duties as required

Hours: Full-time, 1-year contract, some evenings, weekends and/or holidays may be required dependent on programming.

Extra things that can support your application:

  • Your program coordination experience is in our core sports of basketball, hockey, soccer and/or football
  • You are familiar with physical literacy best practices as they relate to youth sport programs
  • You completed post-secondary education in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Sport & Recreation Management, Community Engagement or another related field
  • You speak a second language
