MLSE has also invested in and operates five of Toronto's sports facilities – Coca-Cola Coliseum, BMO Field, BMO Training Grounds at Downsview Park, home of Toronto FC's Academy and the First Team's practice facility, the Toronto Raptors’ training facility and the MasterCard Centre for Hockey Excellence, the practice facility for the Maple Leafs and Marlies.

Job Description

COACHING DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Toronto Maple Leafs are committed to advancing equity, diversity and inclusion by helping eliminate barriers, accelerate development and create a lasting impact in our community. We believe in inclusion and hope to influence change that addresses systemic issues in the sport of hockey as well as within the communities we represent.

In line with our commitment, commencing for the 2021-22 season, the Toronto Maple Leafs will offer two full-time, paid contract positions from September 1, 2021, to July 15, 2022 to Black or Indigenous candidates or those who identify as part of another marginalized and/or racialized group looking to gain exposure in a professional sports organization.

These positions will provide valuable professional hockey experience, increase the candidates’ social capital within the broader hockey community as well as infuse a fresh perspective within the Maple Leafs organization. The club will seek two individuals with any level of experience in sport who exemplify a passion and dedication to growth within the game of hockey.

In the Coaching Program, on and off-ice mentorship opportunities will be provided by head coach Sheldon Keefe and his staff, the club’s player development staff, the organization’s ECHL and AHL coaching staffs, and various other leaders within the hockey program.

The individual selected for the Coaching program will receive a salary commensurate with experience up to $75,000 CAD, paid semi-monthly. Travel and accommodation to required NHL and AHL events will be covered as part of the program experience.

Qualifications

The Toronto Maple Leafs are looking for an individual who is Black or Indigenous or identifies as part of another marginalized and/or racialized group and exemplifies a passion and dedication to growth within the game of hockey. The ideal candidate has demonstrated their work in any aspect of hockey operations or coaching, including but not limited to minor hockey, post-secondary and/or community programs and is committed to their own personal development and embodies the values of character, commitment and teamwork.

Previous experience working in professional hockey is not a requirement.
