Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) one of the world's premier sports and entertainment companies, owns the Toronto Maple Leafs (NHL), Toronto Raptors (NBA), Toronto FC (MLS), Toronto Argonauts (CFL), Toronto Marlies (AHL), Raptors 905 (NBA D-League), TFC II (USL) and Raptors Uprising Gaming Club, the Toronto Raptors Esports franchise in the NBA 2K League. Job Description

Digital Labs plays an important role in the Fan Experience at MLSE. From designing mobile apps and websites, to innovative platforms such as AR/VR and voice, the product team is searching for an intern with passion for Technology, Design and Sports.

  • Create and iterate on digital solutions from problem framing to high fidelity design. 
  • Work with the product team to build user flows and prototypes for the business’ mobile apps and websites. 
  • Attend games and/or events to research fans’ behavior and assist in user research sessions. 
  • Collaborate in brainstorming sessions and participate in Design Thinking. 
  • Assist with testing and implementation of new features on multiple platforms. 
  • Seek new innovative technologies to help improve fans’ experiences in and outside of the arena. 
  • Work with various lines of business to create and maintain content for digital products. 
  • Articulate and present work to various company stakeholders as well as within design feedback sessions.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution with a focus in UX/UI Design, Product Design or Development, or Interaction Design
  • Knowledge of UX principles and best practices 
  • Understanding of user research methods and usability testing 
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating work in both research and visual design 
  • Proficiency in Sketch, InVision, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop 
  • Nice to have: Proficiency in Abstract  
  • Nice to have: Proficiency in HTML, CSS and JS 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word 
  • Excellent organization and time management skills 
  • Strong communication skills 
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills 
  • Available for a weekday shifts, Monday to Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm
