Job Description
How will you make an impact?
We are looking for a Skill Chapter Lead for the Procurement and Upstream Supply Chain Engineering chapter (Platform). The Procurement and Supply Chain Tech fosters excellence in engineering and operations, defines standards, drives technology decisions, builds future oriented capabilities in a people growth-oriented environment for the core wholesale processes and solutions within METRO. With your role in the Procurement and Upstream Supply Chain Engineering chapter you will focus on capabilities around engineering – from technical architecture, over implementation to testing and operations engineering.

Your Responsibilities:
- Act as a line manager and coach for the chapter members and help people with their growth
- Supporting Squad/platform leads in project delivery, with a strong technology background
- Develop chapter strategies for future oriented capability evolution and foster a culture of learning, collaboration and innovation within the chapter
- Define and enforce best practices, standards, methodologies and ensure to use common technical approaches
- Promote knowledge sharing across squads and chapters (incl. support for building communities)
- Provide technology guidance to squads and platforms to collaborate on design council decisions and ABR requests (incl. budget input)
- Support squads in solving complex technology challenges keeping teams empowered for solution resolution
- Drive operational stability and security hardening accordingly to relevant technology KPIs
- Ensure staying updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to enable them for METRO
- Contribute to roadmaps and strategies with technical expertise
- Ensure optimal allocation of chapter members to squads based on skills and priorities
- Lead recruitment and onboarding of team members of the chapters
- Select external partners (vendor) and manage the performance of their team
- Collaborate with other chapter leads, squad leads, and senior management to align on strategic initiatives and drive the success of squad business goals
- Overall responsibility of the Chapter including performance management and career development of the team
Qualifications
Your Qualifications
- University degree in technology engineering related field and 18 + years of IT experience with 6+ yrs of relevant leadership experience in this area or equivalent professional experience
- Should come from technical background having led engineering teams
- Good to have expertise in Procurement and/ or Supply Chain related business and technology;
- Ability to think strategic and to act hands-on short term
- Strong leadership competence with management responsibility of 50+ people (in best case with experience in matrix organizations)
- Experience in defining and managing common standards and ways of working in a complex and dynamic environment
- Comprehensive experience in leading global teams at different international locations with different cultural backgrounds and flexibility to travel to Europe when required
- Demonstrated experience in management of topics combining business and IT needs
- Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills
- Very good English language skills (written and verbal)
