Job Description

As Senior Specialist for Contract & Catalogue Management, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining contracts and catalogues in SAP Ariba on behalf of all METRO countries, validating country-submitted data, ensuring compliance with global configuration standards, and peer-reviewing work as additional specialists join. You will be the Ariba subject matter expert for the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and validate contract and catalogue requests submitted by country Procurement teams via the shared inbox and tracker
  • Create and configure contracts and catalogues in SAP Ariba in line with global templates and LUCA programme standards
  • Perform data validation checks on all incoming requests — identifying missing fields, inconsistencies or non-compliant data before processing
  • Manage the contract and catalogue request tracker on a daily basis, updating status, flagging blockers and communicating with country teams
  • Act as peer reviewer for Specialist-level work, ensuring quality and first-time-right accuracy
  • Serve as Ariba subject matter expert — advising the Team Lead and country teams on configuration options, limitations and best practices
  • Liaise directly with country stakeholders to resolve data queries and obtain approvals

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify recurring data errors or process gaps and propose structural fixes (e.g. request form improvements, quality gate checklists)
  • Support the development and maintenance of process documentation and standard operating procedures
  • Contribute to post-peak capacity planning and potential redeployment planning from Q1 2027

Skills & Competencies:

  • Expert-level knowledge of SAP Ariba — specifically contract module, catalogue management and Guided Buying configuration
  • High attention to detail and strong data accuracy discipline — first-time-right mindset is essential
  • Ability to manage multiple requests in parallel, prioritise effectively and meet SLA targets
  • Clear and professional communication in English, with experience working with cross-cultural stakeholders
  • Structured working style — able to set up trackers, templates and SOPs from scratch
  • Proactive problem-solver — flags issues early rather than waiting for escalation
  • Ability to train and support junior team members

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, IT or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement operations or indirect procurement, with a strong focus on SAP Ariba
  • Hands-on experience with SAP Ariba contract management and/or catalogue configuration — mandatory
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA or SAP MM is a plus
  • Experience in a shared services, GCC or multi-country environment is preferred
  • Fluency in English is required
