Job Description

We are seeking an accomplished Learning and Development Partner to join our Convenience Academy Team and contribute their expertise in developing and delivering retail training programs.

As a subject matter expert, you will play a critical role in enhancing the knowledge, skills, and performance of our Retail Partners and Metro/Makro employees through well-crafted e-learning programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum design by developing a comprehensive training portfolio for Convenience Academy, aligned with organizational goals and educational objectives.
  • Provide and develop content for selected topics to be transferred into suitable learning formats (blended learning).
  • Collaborate with the Global Franchise Team, Global L&D team, external retail experts, and selected countries (PL-pilot; Ro, RU, CZ, SL).
  • Support the implementation of blended learning solutions in METRO/Makro countries.
  • Facilitate training sessions (train the trainer), workshops, and webinars for Retail Partners and employees, ensuring an interactive and impactful learning experience.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to ensure the accuracy and relevance of training content on various topics.
  • Develop assessments and evaluations to measure the effectiveness of training programs and make continuous improvements.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify learning gaps and develop targeted solutions to address them.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in learning and development.
  • Actively support professional exchanges between countries on local training programs and practices, identify the best local L&D programs, and promote their sharing for internationalization.
  • Review, edit, and update existing training programs.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the overall learning experience and recommend innovative learning solutions.
  • Drive learning culture.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of practical retail experience based on convincing success in food retail environments.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into learning solutions.
  • Business coaching skills in delivering Train-the-Trainer formats. 
  • Ability to work in cross-cultural teams and matrix management organization (Functional management, hierarchical management, validation role, implementation role). 
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to engage and inspire learners. 
  • Analytical mindset to assess training needs and measure program effectiveness. 
  • Strong project management skills to oversee complex training initiatives. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders. 
  • Passion for continuous learning and willingness to share knowledge with others. 
  • Fluency in English required.
