Job Description
As we continue to evolve our client portfolio and expand, MET Energia Italia is now looking for a talented Credit Specialist, who will be contributing to the growth of the company in the Italian market.
Within your first weeks you will receive a full training on the job so you have to be an eager learner in order to build your competencies that will render you independent. But we do not bring people aboard just to replicate what we already do, so at the same time you will have to identify potential areas of optimization and present your suggestions in a structured manner to the Credit Manager.
Step by step you will take on several activities that are part of the main duties in an accounting role, bringing your invaluable contribution to our daily operations:
- Manage the end-to-end collection process, ensuring timely recovery of outstanding receivables and achievement of collection targets
- Monitor customer accounts and aging reports, prioritize collection activities, and drive action plans to reduce overdue balances and improve DSO
- Proactively follow up on overdue balances through phone calls, emails, written communications, and negotiations of payment plans or settlement agreements when required
- Resolve billing disputes and delinquency issues, ensuring a high level of customer service while maximizing debt recovery
- Interface with the Sales team to support credit decisions and ensure timely credit reviews for new and existing customers
- Ensure compliance with approved KYC and Credit Policies
- Prepare accurate credit and collection reports, monitor portfolio performance, and provide management reporting
- Manage relationships with credit insurance providers, credit reporting agencies, and external collection agencies
- Develop, review, and update company credit policies and procedures, while supporting CRM development and process improvements
- Be active and ready to take on new challenges in other areas of MET based on your career growth objectives.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of professional experience in similar roles; background in the energy sector is preferred but not mandatory
- Proven experience in managing customer portfolios and overdue debt recovery
- Knowledge of credit insurance, KYC requirements, and credit management best practices
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial and credit data
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities simultaneously
- Hands-on approach and able to simultaneously control multiple tasks
- Flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing situations and priorities
- Bachelor’s in Economics, Accounting or similar (Master degree is a plus);
- Fluent in Italian
- Good knowledge of English
- Good use of MS Office, with advanced skills in Excel and Outlook.
