Join us in building one of the first commercial flexibility portfolios in Poland. You will help establish MET Polska's Balancing Service Provider capabilities and enable Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), conventional generation, renewable assets and demand-side response resources to participate in balancing, ancillary services and Capacity Market mechanisms. It also offers a unique opportunity to gradually expand your expertise into short-term power trading, working closely with our trading desk on portfolio optimization and the commercial monetization of flexibility across the Day-Ahead, Intraday and Balancing Markets. 

Scope of Responsibilities: 

  • Develop MET Polska's Balancing Service Provider (BSP) capabilities, enabling participation of flexible assets in Poland's balancing and ancillary services markets. 

  • Lead qualification and onboarding processes for flexibility assets, including BESS, generation units, renewable assets, demand-side response (DSR) and Capacity Market Units (CMUs). 

  • Coordinate cooperation with PSE, URE, asset owners, technology providers and MET Group throughout qualification, testing and operational readiness. 

  • Develop operational processes required to dispatch and monitor flexibility assets in response to TSO instructions and market conditions. 

  • Support the integration of third-party assets into MET's flexibility portfolio and contribute to building a Virtual Power Plant (VPP). 

  • Coordinate operational aspects of Capacity Market participation, including availability obligations, testing and compliance requirements. 

  • Work closely with Trading and Operations teams to maximize the value of flexibility assets across the Day-Ahead, Intraday, Balancing and Capacity Markets. 

  • Contribute to the commercial evaluation and onboarding of new flexibility assets and technologies. 

Qualifications

  • Experience: 

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in the power sector, preferably in the following areas: balancing markets, ancillary services, Capacity Market, power generation, battery energy storage systems (BESS), renewable energy, demand-side response (DSR), aggregation. 

  • Good understanding of the Polish electricity market and the roles of PSE, TSOs, BRPs and market participants. 

  • Familiarity with technical communication standards with system operators. 

  • Education: University degree in engineering, or mathematics or a related field. 

  • Work Availability: Willingness to work evenings, weekends and public holidays (fully remote) in the scope of short-term operations process supervision. 

  • Competencies: 

  • Coordinating technical or regulatory projects involving multiple stakeholders is considered an advantage. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand both technical and commercial aspects of the business. 

  • Communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to cooperate effectively with internal and external partners. 

  • Proactive, hands-on attitude and willingness to build new business capabilities in a fast-growing organization. 

  • Languages: Fluent in Polish and communication grounds in English.
