MET International AG (METI) was established in 2010 in order to consolidate and develop MET Group’s international natural gas sales and purchase portfolio, as well as to establish a trading arm for commodity lines.
METI is responsible for providing highly competitive supply structures to its gas and power sales affiliates, optimizing its power generation assets, managing the LNG portfolio, and trading around international positions.
Job Description
- Manage and lead the Middle Office team, ensuring smooth daily operations across trading and wholesale activities
- Oversee the full deal life cycle, including trade capture, daily validation, amendments, rebookings, and accurate representation in systems
- Control trading books, monitor exposures, physical positions, and storage completeness, and support complex flows such as LNG, storage, and cross-border capacity
- Ensure data quality for dependent functions, including Accounting, Risk, and Front Office, and participate in the New Product Approval process
- Develop and implement new operational controls, processes, and coordinate operational excellence projects
- Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly reports, including KPIs, P&L, and reconciliations between trading and accounting systems
- Collaborate closely with Front Office, Back Office, Finance, and Treasury to maintain accurate and efficient operations
- Manage team development, performance, and ensure adherence to operational standards and best practices
Qualifications
- Proven experience in middle office operations, ideally within energy trading (gas, LNG, or power markets)
- Strong knowledge of trade capture, validation, and deal management processes
- Solid understanding of risk monitoring, exposure controls, and physical positions, including storage
- Experience with monthly closing, reconciliation, and alignment between trading systems and accounting
- Experience using ENDUR, implementing and improving operational controls, processes and projects
- Ability to manage and lead a team, ensuring smooth daily operations and accountability
- Familiarity with complex trading flows, including LNG, storage, and cross-border capacity
- Strong reporting, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills, including with FO, BO, finance, and treasury
- English fluency is mandatory
