Job Description

  • Working in close cooperation with and supporting the Legal Director of Western and Eastern European Sales Divisions (“Divisions”) in overseeing legal operations across a diverse landscape of seven countries, including France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey;
  • Be an active supporter and driver of the expansion of the Divisions’ activity into new countries, including support of company establishment processes, M&A activity as well as post-merger processes and integration;
  • Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a range of contracts to support the Divisions in meeting their respective business growth strategies and objectives;
  • Supporting the development, harmonisation and application of MET Group policies across the network of subsidiaries and managing corporate governance issues,
  • Ensuring that legal and regulatory changes are properly monitored in each and every relevant jurisdiction;
  • Supporting digitalization projects of the Divisions;
  • Managing the relations with a range of external legal partners (including local law firms) and effectively overseeing their services,
  • Work in close cooperation with HR, Credit Risk, Portfolio and Subsidiary Management Teams of the Divisions.

Qualifications

  • Legal degree from a leading law school 
  • LLM (Master of Laws) and / or admitted to the bar in a European jurisdiction
  • At least 3 years’ experience in an international law firm or company
  • Excellent command of English is a must, French considered as a plus
  • Experience in the energy industry is an advantage, preferably with a focus on sales, wholesale and trading
