Purpose of the position: 
The Head of Data Management supports the Group Chief Digital Transformation Officer  in setting up the Digital Transformation strategy and roadmap. He / she leads the establishment of all Data Management disciplines (Data Governance, Data Architecture, Data Lifecycle Management, Data Quality & Data Performance management). He / she supervises and contributes hands-on to the Data Management activities required by the stakeholders strategic initiatives and by the operations.

Essential responsibilities 

• Drive and explain Data Governance while working closely with internal stakeholders (all divisions and cost centers) to motivate data ownership and improve the quality of critical data across the group
• Promote data as a strategical asset and a key enabler
• Ensure accountability for data governance, data architecture, data lifecycle, data quality, and data performance management
• Coordinate and prioritize the pipeline of terms (addressed through projects or global roll-out of the data governance) and share results with MET executives
• Supervise and anchor the conceptual development of data governance activities performed within MET
• Lead, motivate and moderate the network of Data Governance role holders
• Foster accountability of data by convincing and enforcing data definition owners through the Data Domain Decision Boards
• Develop future activities of Data Governance such as data privacy and data activation (infonomics)
• Coordinate the creation of Data Quality controls applying the rules to increase accuracy, consistency, conformity, timeliness, uniqueness and completeness
• Establish transparency regarding the quality of the data when governed

• Master degree in Business / Economics / IT
• 8-12 years of experience in data management is required
• Understanding and passion for Data Management (Data Governance, Data Architecture, Data Quality)
• Experience with defining and designing data flows & data lifecycle management
• Process and project management experience, IT flair
• Knowledge of reporting and data integration desirable
• Experience / knowledge of energy sector is an advantage
• Attention to details, distinctive continuous improvement mindset
