Company Description

MET International AG (METI) was established in 2010 in order to consolidate and develop MET Group’s international natural gas sales and purchase portfolio, as well as to establish a trading arm for commodity lines. 

METI is responsible for providing highly competitive supply structures to its gas and power sales affiliates, originating additional positions on the European wholesale and the international LNG markets, as well as trading around international positions.

To further strengthen the growth of our LNG desk, MET International is recruiting a motivated (Senior) LNG Trader/Structurer to join our team in Zug, Switzerland.  

Job Description

  • Managing, optimizing, and taking speculative positions within existing LNG portfolio
  • Originating, structuring, and managing trades (including negotiating and contracting terms) independently and in line with LNG desk requirements
  • New counterparty onboarding and counterparty framework agreement negotiation (NDA, MSPA, AM, etc.)
  • Hedging and derivative position management (including any speculative trades)
  • Developing and guiding the internal LNG view, and supporting analysis team on global supply and demand balance
  • Position management and consolidation with internal system to ensure they are aligned
  • Close collaboration with other desks in METI or MET Group subsidiaries to expand LNG activities within the portfolio, as well as middle office (Risk, Portfolio Management, etc.)

Qualifications

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in LNG trading and optimization
  • Strong commercial and operational understanding of converting LNG to gas
  • Experience working directly with terminal operators and rules of operation at European terminals
  • Experience with position management (including booking systems) and working in matrix organization including legal and financing teams
  • Exposure/experience trading or hedging with European gas (preferred)
  • European/Spanish in-tank trading experience (preferred)
  • Team player, and willing to mentor/advise as required
  • Currently residing in, or willing to relocate to, Zug/Zurich
