MET International AG (METI) was established in 2010 in order to consolidate and develop MET Group’s international natural gas sales and purchase portfolio, as well as to establish a trading arm for commodity lines. 

METI is responsible for providing highly competitive supply structures to its gas and power sales affiliates, originating additional positions on the European wholesale and the international LNG markets, as well as trading around international positions.

Reporting to our General Counsel, this role will cover all legal aspects related to our trading activities. The impact of this position will be realized in the agility and increased market presence of an ambitious organization.

• Support the daily transactional commodities business (Gas & Power)
• Review and negotiate agreements, confirmations and templates (standard and bespoke documentation)
• Provide support and general advice on structuring transactions
• Provide support and analysis on regulatory issues and matters attached to the business activities (licenses, exchanges application and reporting obligations
• Collaborate closely with front office teams and internal stakeholders

• Legal educational background
• 5 years’ experience gained in-house or in an international law firm focused on commodity trading business
• Experience and knowledge in Gas and Power trading agreements (including EFET, ISDA and non trading agreements and applications
• Experience with various EU commodity exchanges and commodity derivative trading
• Good knowledge of regulations including EMIR, REMIT, MiFID II/R, MAD/MAR
• Knowledge on Dodd-Franck, FATCA and FINFRAG is a plus
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and oral. Other languages are an advantage (German, French, East European language).
• Excellent organisation skills and interpersonal skills
