We are looking for a Computer Network Support Specialist to assist clients at our Data Centers. As a Computer Network Support Specialist, you will analyze and troubleshoot computer network problems to guarantee that our client's services keep running smoothly by fixing networks, equipment, and systems. In this role, the person primarily performs network maintenance to ensure networks operate correctly with the slightest disturbance and provides reports about equipment, networks, and facilities. 

The Computer Network Support Specialist in MDC excels in customer service and maintenance. In this role, you will always be ready to listen to our client's issues and concerns to fix networks and systems creatively and quickly.

What would you be doing?

  • Install computer system and internet connections.
  • Maintain excellent customer service, accommodating customer requests and needs related to data center maintenance and network systems.
  • Assist with training newly hired technical support coordinators and customer service representatives.
  • Provide administrative, computer, and technical support for the Data Center and fiber optic network daily operations.
  • Engineer network projects, including cable, socket, and patch panel terminations, including the configuration of network routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Developed scenarios to troubleshoot computer, network, application, and peripheral issues.
  • Analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing network systems, such as local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet systems or a segment of a network system.
  • Perform network maintenance to ensure networks operate correctly with minimal interruption.
  • Perform basic computer engineering operations, core infrastructure maintenance, data center management, commissioning, and start-up.
  • Participate in installing and managing all cable and network infrastructure supporting facility and customer connectivity. 
  • Participate in technical event management including post-event root cause analysis and infrastructure repair. 
  • Maintain records and drawing schematics of the center to detail what equipment is installed.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Associate degree in electrical, electronics, electrical mechanical engineering, telecommunications engineering, computer information Systems, computer science,  or related field.

Technical skills and work experience

  • Bilingual – English and Spanish required.
  • Communicates effectively orally and in writing
  • 2 years of experience in position(s) with similar job duties
