Job Description

We are looking for a Procurement Buyer! 

MDC Procurement Buyer performs the whole procurement process workflow by reviewing the requirements of the purchase order,  selecting and analyzing vendors, negotiating the deals, reviewing contracts, receiving and checking invoices,  managing vendors,  and guaranteeing the proper delivery of the orders in time.

The ideal candidate for this position excels in planning, organizing, and negotiating. Constantly seeks to improve procurement processes and implement innovation. 

What would you be doing?

  • Assess necessities of internal clients to define the requirements for the purchase
  • Analyze supplier proposals looking for the best cost-benefit for the company
  • Negotiate prices with vendors to obtain the best price for products or services
  • Researches  market trends to determine the best time to purchase specif items
  • Coordinate  with other departments to ensure all purchases meet the company’s needs
  • Monitor inventory levels of supplies and order additional stock as needed
  • Review bids from prospective suppliers to ensure that they comply with company standards
  • Review proposals from vendors and select those who will receive contracts
  • Manage and maintain a purchasing data system
  • Liaison with the finance department to forecast quarterly purchases
  • Liaison with the finance department to receive purchase approvals
  • Review purchase orders for accuracy and compliance
  • Coordinate with warehouses and logistics to optimize the domestic and international shipping process
  • Provide recommendations to lower costs
  • Review invoices and oversees the delivery compliance of products and services
  • Maintain appropriate documentation for audit and control procedures, in addition to timely and accurately update purchasing records and data
  • Help establish and maintain a purchasing budget
  • Oversees procurement KPIs and provides reports

Qualifications

 Technical skills and work experience

  • Bilingual – English and Spanish required.
  • Experience with procurement and purchasing
  • 3-5 years of prior experience in supply chain management
  • Telecommunication or construction experience is a plus.
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Vendor management skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Interpersonal skills to deal with vendors and internal clients

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, telecommunication, engineering, or a related field is a plus
