Job Description

The Technical Associate ensures all equipment in facility is processed and placed in its required location which includes recycling, testing, data erasure, cleaning & prepping and packing & shipping of electronic equipment. This position is 100% on-site.

This position:

• Uses electronic scanning equipment to log equipment into inventory system.

• Tests and audits the inventory/product received from the clients

• Processes, sorts, and deconstructs equipment, which includes the manual disassembly of electronic equipment and putting those components in a specified container.

• Operates a pallet jack including building and maneuvering equipment on pallets.

• Maintains the physical security protocols we have in place

• Maintains the operating condition of work station tools and machinery used to execute primary functions.

• Assists the activities of the warehouse staff to ensure a positive and efficient work experience.

• Maintains the cleanliness and overall appearance of work stations.

• Attends and participates in monthly operations meetings.

In addition, we seek a candidate who has experience driving a larger vehicle (straight truck, motor home, large farm equipment, etc.).  The majority of driving time would be West Michigan, but could branch out around the Lower Peninsula and the potential might be an occasional trip to Cleveland (if crossing state lines you must be 21). 

The largest vehicle to be driven in this role is under 26,000 lbs. and a chauffeur license is all that is required.

Our Grand Rapids office is located at 1601 Madison SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49507. This position will work in our STAD (Secured Technology Asset Disposition Center).

Qualifications

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED).

* Experience building computers, tearing apart computers and devices, understanding the internal components of computers and devices. When applying for this position, explain in detail your experience of this understanding and skill. 

• High attention to detail and ability to follow directions.

• Ability to work well with a team.

• Related experience or interest in technology, asset disposition or sustainability is a plus.

Physical Aspects

• Occasional sitting, focusing on and operating a computer several times a day.

• Daily lifting up to 25 lbs. up to 5 minutes at a time.

• Constant or regular standing, walking, stooping.

• Warehouse environment, some exposure to heat and cold (but not equivalent to outside temperatures); dust, pollen, fumes (as in normal outside environment); noise.
