Job Description

This position serves as a leader and contact person for employees throughout the day.  Working with the Production Supervisor assigns duties to employees, insures completion of tasks, reports any employee/ production/ equipment issues to the Production Supervisor, etc. Participate in and support Rome facility metrics, initiatives and programs. Work with other team members to create and maintain a safe and organized working environment/culture that meets/exceeds MAT HD - Rome facility standards and customer expectations.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Assist Production Supervisor with operations of the designated area.
  • Backup Production Supervisor when needed to include positive relationship building.
  • Assume leadership responsibilities on floor. 
  • Assign duties to employees and insure completeness of tasks. 
  • Conduct and participate in team meetings. 
  • Communicate with Production Supervisor on any employee / production or equipment issues. 
  • Identify developmental needs for employees and perform training on operations. 
  • Ensure that all jobs are performed in safe manner, equipment is kept in safe working condition and proper PPE is available and worn. 
  • When applicable, distribute all PM’s to appropriate personnel and follow-up for completion.
  • Oversee operation of all aspects of production in area of responsibility.
  • Perform routine maintenance on applicable equipment. 
  •  Knowledgeable of all positions in the area of responsibility. 
  • Operate computer and database systems. 
  • Assist Production Supervisor with the preparation of required metrics and tracking. 
  • Additional duties assigned by Supervisor and/or member of Management.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma/GED required, some college preferred.
  • Strong leadership abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to identify developmental needs with employees.
  • Ability to backup Production Supervisor.
  • Strong focus on safety.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a heavy manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment.
  • Must be willing to submit to background check, employment verification, and drug screen.
