Job Description
Job Summary
- This person will be responsible for the upkeep of company premises & equipment while maintaining a clean & safe work environment.
Principle Responsibilities
- Promote safe work practices by following company safety policies.
- Must be able to operate powered industrial vehicles: aerial, boom, scissor and platform lifts.
- Performs minor electrical maintenance using appropriate hand, power, and specialty tools
- Performs plumbing installation and repairs
- Performs carpentry work related to facility and building maintenance
- Prepares the surfaces and paints various structures and equipment
- Perform emergency repairs in order of urgency and in a timely manner
- Perform outside maintenance, including light snow removal, salting, etc.
- Maintain all tools in good working order and adhere to tool control
- Receive and follow maintenance / facilities instructions from the supervisor
- Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the department’s policies and procedures
- Participates as a safety member
Qualifications
Competencies
- Ability to perform routine building maintenance, repair, and construction work, including the routine inspection of the low-pressure boiler, PVCP pipe, urinals, toilets, basic electrical work, and lift PMs
- Knowledge of occupational standards, safety, and hazardous precautions associated with various trades and construction areas
- Ability to read charts, schematics and mechanical drawings, repair manuals, work orders, and draw-up dimensions for woodworking purposes
- Proficient knowledge of basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, interest, decimals, and percentages
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, especially the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks
- Must be a self-starter and able to accomplish expected tasks under minimal supervision
Education/Experience
- High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalency preferred
- 2-4 years of maintenance experience highly desired
- two years working in plumbing, electrical, building maintenance, or related field
