Job Description

Job Summary

  • This person will be responsible for the upkeep of company premises & equipment while maintaining a clean & safe work environment.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Promote safe work practices by following company safety policies.
  • Must be able to operate powered industrial vehicles: aerial, boom, scissor and platform lifts.
  • Performs minor electrical maintenance using appropriate hand, power, and specialty tools
  • Performs plumbing installation and repairs
  • Performs carpentry work related to facility and building maintenance
  • Prepares the surfaces and paints various structures and equipment
  • Perform emergency repairs in order of urgency and in a timely manner
  • Perform outside maintenance, including light snow removal, salting, etc.
  • Maintain all tools in good working order and adhere to tool control
  • Receive and follow maintenance / facilities instructions from the supervisor
  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the department’s policies and procedures
  • Participates as a safety member

Qualifications

Competencies

  • Ability to perform routine building maintenance, repair, and construction work, including the routine inspection of the low-pressure boiler, PVCP pipe, urinals, toilets, basic electrical work, and lift PMs
  • Knowledge of occupational standards, safety, and hazardous precautions associated with various trades and construction areas
  • Ability to read charts, schematics and mechanical drawings, repair manuals, work orders, and draw-up dimensions for woodworking purposes
  • Proficient knowledge of basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, interest, decimals, and percentages
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, especially the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks
  • Must be a self-starter and able to accomplish expected tasks under minimal supervision

Education/Experience

  • High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalency preferred
  • 2-4 years of maintenance experience highly desired
  • two years working in plumbing, electrical, building maintenance, or related field
