Job Description

Performs visual and dimensional inspections of in-process and finished components, sub-assemblies, and products. Reads and interprets mechanical parts and assembly drawings. Proficiently and skillfully utilizes all standard precision measuring tools and gauges.

Job Duties:

  • Capable of all aspects of receiving inspection.
  • Process Non-conformance reports (NCR’s) per procedure with inventory updates on SAP.
  • Monitors supplier performance, follows up with corrective actions with vendors.
  • Report vendor defects/problems to Quality Manager and Materials Dept.
  • Assist with calibration of all measuring tools and production monitoring equipment.
  • Responsible for conducting first article inspections submitted from all functional areas.
  • Will program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
  • Follows ASME Code requirements and maintains the appropriate records.
  • Audit weldments as well as final assemblies and confirm test/inspection procedures to actual processes.
  • Analyze production process for appropriateness of SPC and establish control charts as necessary.
  • Provide trouble-shooting support for production lines.
  • Perform line audits to ensure production of a quality product.
  • Works from drawings and bills of materials to check accuracy of assembly products and weldments.

Qualifications

  • 2 year technical trained machinist or equivalent experience desired.
  • ASQ Certification in related fields preferred.
  • Two years manufacturing and inspection experience.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, blueprint reading, computer skills.
  • Must have excellent writing skills, ability to communicate effectively with customers and factory personnel.
