 Job Summary

Will assist the engineer in the creation of conceptual designs, development of new products, and revision of existing product documentation.

Essential Functions:

1. Will model new products from concept to production including weldments, sheet metal, die castings, injection molded parts and final product assemblies using Solidworks CAD software.
2. Create/design tooling and fixtures to support production
3. Create and maintain component drawings, bills of materials and final assembly documentation.
4. Recommend product improvements and cost reductions.
5. Recommend improvements to the CAD system.
6. Will research and create detailed ECO’s. (Engineering Change Orders)
7. Transfer CAD files to vendors via the internet.
8. Communicate design information as needed between the test lab, manufacturing engineering, and engineering documentation.
9. Assist in the selection of suppliers, materials, and manufacturing processes.
10. Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerance, when appropriate.
11. Work within pre-established deadlines, design requirements, performance specifications, and target costs.
12. Assist with packaging design, testing and documentation.
13. Perform calculations as required to validate designs.
14. Prepare engineering samples.
15. Complete other duties as assigned.

1. Ability to meet attendance standards.  All full-time employees are required to work a 40-hr week.  At times it may be necessary to work additional hours in order to get the required tasks accomplished to meet deadlines.

3. Must know Windows and Microsoft Office software products.

Education/Experience

1. Associates degree or Certificate in Drafting and Design.
2. A minimum of 3 plus years of experience is preferred.
3. Must have experience in Solid Works or related CAD software.
4. Must have product development procedures, and knowledge of basic manufacturing processes.
5. Additional experience in mechanical applications, welding or metal fabrication would be a plus.
