Job Description

This position is responsible for managing the complete flow of materials into all locations to support production. Accountable for specific commodities and maintaining inventory and stocks levels. 

Principle Responsibilities

  • Utilize the production planning and inventory control system (MRP) to schedule purchased product in the right quantity to be delivered timely to support production schedule.
  • Track supplier on time delivery and work with suppliers to improve performance as needed; Accountable for product delivery to the manufacturing facilities.
  • First point of contact for materials issues such as shortages and out of stock materials.
  • Develop recovery plans with suppliers when required and ensure the plans are followed.
  • Accountable for maintaining good relationships with suppliers to guarantee delivery requirements and standards are met.
  • Proactively communicate issues to make certain resolutions are put in place and escalate concerns.
  • Create, maintain and communicate system parameters, processes and procedures.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and address improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain safety stock levels to correctly balance inventory.
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate Excess or Obsolete inventory.

Education/Experience

  • BS/BA degree in supply chain or logistic management.
  • Knowledge of SAP highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
