Job Description

SUMMARY:  Contribute to the design, development and qualification of all MAT products by providing quality test data as required by Quality, Engineering, Marketing and Sales departments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

-  Conduct engineering tests to verify the performance, durability and reliability of experimental, prototype, pre-production, production and competitive products.

-  Enter data from daily testing, maintenance and repair into the Microsoft Access Test Database.

-  Set up mechanical, pneumatic and/or electrical testing in accordance with established test procedures. Perform test procedures in prescribed sequence; observe the operation of component during test and evaluate the quality of its function and durability; detect failures and determine the probable cause of malfunctions or failures; make repairs to components on test (as directed) and call attention to deviations or variations not anticipated.

-  Compile, organize, and prepare reports of test data for evaluation; make constructive recommendations as to product performance, malfunctions, failures or breakdowns.  Write test reports using Microsoft Excel, Word or PowerPoint. 

-  Build product samples as needed.

-  Assist with creating/modifying test procedures.

-  Manage resources and time to achieve project schedules.

-  Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree or Certificate Preferred.  The ideal candidate would have experience in the following areas; trouble shooting and repairing compressors, preparing compressor samples (which includes but is not limited to machining, welding, plasma cutting, painting, etc…) and testing of compressors or other similar products.

 

JOB PREREQUISITES:

-  Mechanical aptitude

-  Proficient with Windows and Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint)

-  Ability to meet attendance standards.  All full-time employees are required to work a 40-hr week.  At times it may be necessary to work additional hours in order to get the required tasks accomplished to meet deadlines

-  While no control of others exists, when in discussion with others, this position must display tact, diplomacy, and respect. He or she must listen to, acknowledge and respond to issues in a timely fashion

-  Highly motivated, well-organized

-  Basic mathematical skills
