Job Description

Locating and maintaining the best sources of supply for the components, materials, equipment and services to meet the Company’s needs.  Develop and put into effect approved objectives, policies, and programs to govern purchasing activities. Performs duties in compliance with all applicable laws and consistent with best industry practices. 

Principle Responsibilities

  • Prepare and conduct contract negotiations to obtain best value with support of Category Management from interconnected BU in some cases.
  • Monitor the markets worldwide to create a basis for deciding the optimum sourcing strategy and partner with the most strategic suppliers.
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness; Deliver year over year reductions in global spend on reoccurring items
  • Support Supplier Management processes (e.g. qualification, selection, evaluation, development, classification); update supplier evaluation systems to obtain and develop the best suppliers and ensure transparency and high procurement quality.
  • Collaborate with key persons and comply with applicable company policies to ensure clarity of the specifications and achievement of the company’s expectations.
  • Assure that purchase sources deliver purchases in the quantity and at the price, quality and time required, and follow up on major purchase orders to assure delivery on schedule.
  • Manage the inventory of office supplies and services.

 

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Business
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in procurement leadership roles in a manufacturing environment

  • Must have experience in negotiation with outside vendors
  • Business Acumen to understand complex business strategies
  • Manages Work load independently
  • Ability to build strategic relationships with key leaders
