Job Description

Responsible for development and growth of MAT’s effort in the automotive and truck & trailer air brake tank market through existing relationships and new growth platforms.  Work with sales, product management and engineering teams to develop the proper product, marketing and sales strategy program.  Include a strategy that can be taken to both heavy duty parts distributors and original equipment manufacturers.  Geographic territories shall include North America including Latin America and Canada. 

 

Principle Responsibilities

  • Identify customer targets and develop a sales plan to secure business.
  • Manages the sales planning function, which includes the design, development and implementation of all tools and procedures involved in the successful utilization of resources in the sales process.
  • Benchmark competition and monitor business performance to track the effectiveness of approved sales / product strategies.
  • Develops and implements systems to accurately forecast revenue generation, unit demands and the flow of orders to the Company.
  • Develop and implement annual sales growth initiatives including pricing, end user programs, new product development and new markets/industries/customers etc. and measure performance against agreed targets.
  • Develop metrics and programs to create accurate forecasting.
  • Identify and represents Company at trade shows to promote products.
  • Analyzes and controls expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements.
  • Travel to accounts and attend necessary national and trade association events while promoting product line.  Estimated 30-50% travel.

  • Valid passport and driver’s license.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in Business and/or Marketing
  • Minimum of 8+ years on-the-job experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Must have direct automotive / truck parts and / or equipment sales.
  • Experience in selling to OEM is highly desirable.
