Job Description

This position is primarily responsible for financial support for the Farmington Hills Headquarters and Technical Center and the Oklahoma distribution center.  Key responsibilities include closing the monthly accounts for the US operations, preparation of financial statements, financial lead for product cost development, and program accounting, financial support for decision makers, budget preparation, and variance analysis.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Develop and enforce product costing processes from raw material standards through manufacturing.

  • Manage the periodic cost rolls within the system, reviewing and verifying the data, develop analytical checks to verify data integrity before and after system load.

  • Cost tracking/trending by product family down to the raw material and manufacturing standards and identify unfavorable trends.

  • Support purchasing in component cost impacts by commodity cost changes.

  • Support and direct the normal US entity monthly close process.

  • Lead the US entity budgeting process preparing the budget templates, working with department heads in trending prior years cost, and calculating future year expenses.

  • Direct cost tracking and control of US entity operating expenses and capital plan to budget.

  • Work with Sales team to track sales and margin by customer/channel and identify trends.

  • Balance sheet and account reconciliations.

  • Net working capital calculations.

  • Maintain financial KPI’s.

  • Take on special projects as needed.

  • Responsible for monthly close journal entries and account reconciliations.

  • Provide support to the departments by gathering and analyzing data in the establishment and/or maintenance of corporate business processes, procedures and policies.

  • Assist in the preparation of long-term financial forecast of revenues and expenditures.

  • Assist with preparation and evaluation of Budgets and Forecasts.

  • Provide support through ad hoc analyses and reports as required.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • MBA, CPA, and/or CMA preferred
  • Six to eight years finance experience
  • MS Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills
  • SAP experience
  • Manufacturing / automotive industry experience a plus

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP

  • Excellent verbal and written skills

  • A demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment, to take initiative, to work independently of day-to-day supervision, and to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
