Job Description

Job Summary

The main responsibility for the Mechanical Technician of the Warranty Team is to assist the Team Lead in analysis of all warranty parts received and assist in prioritizing the parts prior to analysis.  

Principle Responsibilities

  • Setup and run test equipment for return parts
  • Participate and facilitate problem solving activities where problems are complex
  • Assist the Team Lead as required with group initiatives, objectives, communications, metrics and customer deliverables
  • Transfer tested parts to proper holding area for customer approval
  • Assist with warranty-related process flows and procedures
  • Assist in identifying root cause and corrective actions for warranty concerns & follow until closure
  • Participate in Warranty Part Reviews
  • Travel to customer dealerships (as required) to inspect specific warranty issues
  • Train and mentor less experienced Warranty Analysts on responsibilities, processes and procedures

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel
  • Project and systems experience in automotive industry
  • Causal analysis problem-solving skills needed
  • Must be able to prepare and write reports in a logical and professional manner

Desired Experience

  • Experience in warranty preferred
