Job Description

The Material Planner is responsible for accurately preparing international commercial documents for AP and AR departments, reviewing service part requirements, placing orders to suppliers, and other clerical duties as assigned.

 

Principle Responsibilities

  • Receive emails from import suppliers and update purchase order log with paperwork status into Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
  • Enter import shipping notices once documentation is complete (i.e. BOL, Commercial Invoice, & Packing List).
  • Candidate will be an intermediary between import suppliers and accounts payable in regards to ocean documents.
  • Assist Materials Manager & Inventory Coordinator with various reports.
  • Working with MAT warehouse personnel on receiving and inventory variances.
  • Maintain service part replenishment and purchases.
  • Assists with special projects as required.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills.  Ability to deal with different levels of employees, customers and vendors.
  • Highly motivated and extremely well-organized.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities.

 

Experience

  • Ability to meet attendance standards.  All full-time employees are required to work at least 40-hrs week.  At times it may be necessary to work additional hours in order to get the required tasks accomplished to meet deadlines.
  • Must be computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of SAP a plus.

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision for written work and PC use. The noise level is usually fairly quiet.

 

  • Maintain confidentiality of certain information.

 

Education

 

  •        HS diploma required.  Associate in business is a plus.
