Job Description

Job Summary

This position is a leading / supporting role in the testing of Ride Control, LLC products. The individual will assist with all testing aspects of design and engineering of the product, including technical specifications and design standards. It will provide engineering and technical support to customers and internal departments, application engineering activities and documentation to support all activities. In addition this role will operate and troubleshoot all standard and specialized equipment to produce superior parts.  

Principle Responsibilities

 Coordinate and perform tests from requests to reports.

 Build fixtures for mechanical tests from designs from engineering.

 Data collection, preparation and reporting.

 Capturing statistical data to analyze, review and use for recommended improvement updates.

 Assembly, disassembly, and testing of prototype units.

 Retains complete records of all testing data, including faults and their sources and consequences.  

 Insures the satisfactory functioning of all equipment through regular checks and services.

 Keeps the workplace in compliance with all safety rules and regulations, both company and federal, in order to establish a clean and hazard free environment.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

 Capability to set up test equipment

 Proficiency with Servo Hydraulic Equipment and MTS Flextest Software

 Hands on vehicle development and/or testing experience 

 Mechanically inclined

 Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint a plus

Desired Experience

 Knowledge of chassis systems/suspensions and components

 Understanding of basic machine tool operation

 2-4 years automotive related experience with a Tier 1 supplier and with test & development work

 General know-how of machining practices and part inspections per print 

 Experience in a ‘shop’ environment (drill press, band saw, sander, chop saw, arbor press, etc.)

 Ability to interpret prints and GD&T training

 Automotive enthusiast
