Job Description

To support our growth, we are hiring an experienced Operations Engineer to ensure the scalability, quality, and reliability of all of our backend services.  

What You'll Be Doing

In this role,  you’ll work with the Platform team to design, document, implement and improve service deployment and monitoring systems, along with designing scalable solutions and planning for capacity. You’ll develop strategies for improving application security, as well as help manage system deployments and service migrations. Deployment pipelines, metrics and visibility, and systems management will take the majority of your time, helping to power a large-scale distributed stream processing system.

Our Tech Stack

Lytics’ backend is in Go, and we use Kubernetes and Google Cloud Platform for deployments. Salt is used for system management and BigTable, ElasticSearch and Redis for storage.  We use stream processing systems similar to Spark and Storm.

Qualifications

What We Must Have

  • 2+ years of dedicated experience in a operational/platform role (managing large scale cloud deployments, developing monitoring infrastructure, and cloud networking).

  • Proficiency with system management software (i.e., Salt, Chef, and/or Puppet).

  • Knowledge of security best practices.

What’d Be Nice to Have (but not required)

  • Google Cloud.

  • Kubernetes or other container scheduling system.

  • Familiarity with distributed systems.

  • BS in Computer Science or related field.
