Job Description

OHB LuxSpace is looking for motivated candidates to join for an exciting opportunity as:

IT Systems Engineer / Integrated Logistics Services (ILS) and Maintenance Tools (m/f/o)

Job Profile:

Being member of a dedicated multinational team, the incumbent will contribute to the successful performance of ILS and IT services for space mission operations and general operations in aspects of Logistics and Maintenance, as well as Hardware and Software infrastructures and Databases Management.

The position is expected to cover general operations, service operations preparation and validation, pre-launch, launch, and post-launch activities.

The IT Systems Engineer / ILS and Maintenance Tools will be in charge of logistics and maintenance operations, supervision and control of related activities; logistic software tool operation / administration and databases management. Tasks comprise the execution of all activities relating to integration, configuration, administration and operation of hardware and software in new and existing infrastructures.

 

Typical tasks to be performed include:

  • Participation to installations, operations preparation and validation
  • Participation in commissioning and routine phases
  • Participation to trainings
  • Contribution and active participation to system validation test, system operation validation and S&R
  • Deal with general operation procedures and documentation, ground operation procedures and ILS life cycle documentation
  • Supporting and contributing to achievement of project milestones
  • Planning, supervision and execution of maintenance
  • Optimization of maintenance resources and scenarios
  • Logistic support analysis
  • Spare parts optimization and consumables management; executing ordering processes in cooperation with purchasing team
  • Acknowledge maintenance
  • Anomalies detection, reporting and analysis, trouble ticketing
  • Analysis and evaluation of system performances
  • Statistical data processing and ILS data analysis
  • Report generation
  • Criticalities submission
  • Information security aspects
  • Administration and updates of databases and configuration of control assets, e. g. for documentation configuration control, HW and SW, logistics, spare parts
  • Logistic engineering software tool operation and administration (LORA, LCC, SO)
  • Execution of all activities relating to HW and SW maintenance in order to ensure nominal operations
  • SW and HW problem reporting, resolving and managing new SW and HW releases
  • Maintaining SW and HW configurations
  • Preparation, execution and monitoring of device tests
  • Management and execution of general logistic aspects, such as PHST

 

  • Coordination and exchange with system engineering, test and software development teams
  • Interfacing and collaborating with other roles as required

 

  • Other tasks and duties assigned by manager(s)
  • Temporarily or permanently performing other reasonable and equivalent duties.

Qualifications

Skills and Background:

  • Proficient knowledge of Software and Hardware maintenance, administration and management
  • Solid knowledge of office automation SW
  • Working knowledge of tools for logistic procedures
  • Knowledge of ILS aspects including LSA
  • Proficient knowledge of hardware and software COTS
  • Working knowledge of PHST activities
  • Confident handling of Microsoft and/or Linux operating systems
  • Specialized knowledge in such areas as networking, virtualization, Powershell, shell scripting, cloud services and other fields is considered an advantage
  • Knowledge of ITIL and/or SCRUM is considered an asset
  • Base knowledge of satellite systems considered an asset

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Engineering or technical discipline degree (Bachelor/Master/Diploma) in the field of IT or comparable relevant field; or equivalent vocational education plus relevant proven work experience
  • 3+ years of work experience in relevant fields
  • Experience in project work
  • Adequate leadership and decision making in logistics and technical aspects
  • Willingness to learn new tools and systems
  • Excellent sense of responsibility and confidentiality
  • Structured hands-on work-approach
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work autonomously
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
