  • Satellite services and applications with a focus on Automatic Identification System (AIS) and Earth Observation (EO)

Job Description

In order to further reinforce and expand its project and program activities, LuxSpace is recruiting for immediate employment a RF & Electronics Design Engineer with focal expertise and working experience relevant to spaceborne electronics development and ground station equipment design.

Being member of a multinational team of dedicated Engineers, the RF & Electronics Design Engineer is required to participate in and essentially contribute to design of satellite units and ground-based equipment. Projects involve LuxSpace next generation micro satellites up to commercial satellite projects within an international consortium. The frequency range covers DC to Ka-band.

 

Typical Tasks include:

The RF & Electronics Design Engineer will in particular be responsible for:

 

  • RF Receiver/Transmitter design and development
  • Apply profound knowledge of RF design techniques for amplifiers (LNA, SSPA, and passive components)
  • Analogue and digital circuit design (e.g., Interface unit)
  • Review of design documentation from external suppliers
  • Provision of design documentation like: Technical Notes, Design Description, Worst Case Analysis etc.
  • Elaboration of requirement specifications
  • Simulation of electronic circuits
  • Support to Subsystem engineering
     
  • Other tasks and duties assigned by manager(s)
  • Temporarily or permanently performing other reasonable and equivalent duties

Qualifications

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • University degree (Bachelor/Master/Diploma) or equivalent education plus relevant proven work experience
  • 7+ years of work experience gained in a relevant professional position such as space, aeronautics, automotive industry
  • Experienced in RF- and analogue design
  • Working knowledge of the digital domain (e.g. modems)
  • Good communication capabilities (verbal and writing), analytical sense, priority setting
  • Self-motivated; taking responsibility and being proactive
  • Hands-on mentality and experience
  • Methodical work-approach, results-oriented
  • Ability to work and interface with a multinational team
  • Willingness to work flexible in line with project needs and schedules
  • Willingness to travel for business
  • EU citizenship or work permission for Luxembourg
  • Positive spirit to work and interface with a multinational team
  • Methodical and structured hands-on work approach
  • Readiness to travel for business if needed
  • Taking responsibility and being proactive
  • Languages: Good English language skills (spoken and written), German and/or French knowledge considered an asset
